Hi, friends! Last week I told you about my new website. Today, I’m sharing plans for a new I blogging schedule. Beginning soonish. Probably Octoberish.
I’m on a roll! But first. . .vacation.
DH and I are headed to Maine the end of next week, through the end of September. Please excuse my lack of comments on your blog posts while I’m gone. I’ll look forward to chatting with you when I return in October.
At that time, Book Review Tuesdays will continue, but I’ve also decided to add another regular weekly post. Those of you who have been longtime followers of my blog may remember Mythical Mondays. It’s a theme I kept up for years, eventually abandoning for lack of time. No, Mondays are not coming back, but something sorta/kinda/quasi-similar—Wednesday Weirdness.
Like my Mythical Monday posts, you’re apt to find myth, legends, and folklore, but I’m also planning to share anything I come across that’s too “weird” for explanation. That opens the door to mysteries, strange coincidences, unexplained happenings, and even a few personal experiences. I’ll also be chatting about the “oddness” that inspired each of the books I’ve written. I’ve missed sharing that aspect of my writing and look forward to trotting it out again.
You may see other random posts from me here and there, and as always, I’m happy to host friends with new releases and other news you’d like to share. Give me a shout and we’ll get something scheduled!
So, why am I telling you this now? It’s been said that if you publicly state an intention, you’re more apt to follow through. Who wants to promise something, then fail to deliver? With that said, picture me nervously gnawing my fingernails (my nail tech is not going to be happy).
I know I’m going to be insane when I return from Maine. There will be a ton of catch-up on my day job, October is NaNoWriMo prep time, and the Story Empire Something Wicked Blog Tour will kick off toward the end of the month. But there’s always something to delay plans, right? I’m going to ignore all of the potential hurdles and go for it. I have Staci Troilo and Joan Hall, to thank for inspiring me with their own blogging schedules.
And while I’m in Maine, as Craig Boyack told me—“Find some great New England cryptids while you’re there.”
Sounds like good advice to me! 🙂
Have a wonderful vacation Mae and I look forward to the new schedule!

Isn’t that Stephen King country 😏

Sure is. Although he lives in Bangor and we will be further away along the coast.

Mae, I look forward to your Wednesday Weirdness posts! Hope you have a wonderful vacation. Should be a beautiful time of the year to visit. I like Craig’s advice.
And thanks for the shout-out.

You’ve definitely inspired me with your blogging commitments, Joan. Thanks for the push. 🙂
I am very much looking forward to Maine….and then jumping into Wednesday Weirdness when I return. I’ll have to see what type of creatures and critters haunt Maine!

Looking forward to your new blogging schedule, Mae! In the meantime, I hope you have a wonderful vacation. I’ll just be here. At home. Doing the same old, same old. But wondering which random passerby I can accost to get my Pendergast fix. *sigh* No, no. Don’t worry. I can muddle through without you. Probably.
*she sucks it up and forges ahead with a brave smile in place*
Okay, that was total baloney. Mostly. 😀 😀 😀
I hope you have a super time on your vacation. Take lots of pictures and eat lobster every day. Even for breakfast. We’ll expect a full report upon your return.

I LOVE lobster….although I’m not sure about for breakfast, LOL. While I’m up there in Maine I may be able to catch up with Gideon Crew so I may have Pender Ponderings to share with you when I return. Waiting for the next A.X.L. book is excruciating. I hope Doug and Linc understand the torture Special Agent P’s fan girls go through while waiting for his next case/adventure!
Hoping to bring back lots of tales of Maine, too. We will have a ton of catch up to do! 😀

Sounds good to me, Mae. I was just wondering if I might by chance be the oldest squealing teenage fan girl on record??? There ought to be a prize! 😀

LOL! One is never too old to be a squealing fan girl! 😀

October and November are going to be crazy-busy, Diana. Hopefully, I can bottle some of the relaxing I do while in Maine and save it for later. 🙂
Thanks for the well wishes!

Enjoy your vacation, Mae! I’ve always wanted to go to Maine – make sure to post pics. And drop in on Stephen King. I was looking at Halloween decorations yesterday and saw a demon unicorn. Seems like that would be weird enough for your new Wednesday post.

A demon unicorn? That is sooo bizarre! It’s weird to think that when I come back, it will be October and Halloween will only be a few weeks away.
I won’t be near Bangor, but it will be interesting to see if there is still a Stephen King “presence” even outside of Bangor!

Heehee, We’re hoping to do a whale watch. When I was reading the Meg novels, a whale watch tour was attacked by one of the Megalodons. I like my cryptids, but that I could do without! 😀

That’s a great endorsement from your daughter, Judi! I’ve never been to Maine but everyone I know who has, seems to fall in love with the place. I’m really looking forward to the trip.
And yes, October is going to be insane, I fear. Hopefully, I’ll come back ready to tackle it!

You are going to have a wonderful time in Maine. Just before it gets too cold. I’m thinking of doing NaNoWriMo this year so may be leaning on you!

We thought the end of September would be a good time. Most of the crowds have left and the weather is still pleasant. We are so looking forward to it.
If you do NaNo, you definitely have to let me know so I can add you as a buddy. Joan is going to be doing it as well. We can all cheer each other on!

This is the time we usually go to Maine! Love it there at this time of year, but this time we are heading to Ireland for two weeks. Do have a lobster or two for me, along with some clams and oysters!
