Once upon a time…

There were five authors with a passion for writing and story-telling who decided to band together and create a blog where they could share their love of the written word with the world. They didn’t set out to create an empire, just a small pocket of the blogosphere where others with similar interests might gather.

But then they realized how powerful writing could be, and that there were SO MANY writers, authors, and readers who might enjoy coming together and visiting their humble abode that they envisioned an empire. A place where writers could go to talk craft. Where readers could discover books—not only from the five authors—but from works that had impacted the lives of those authors.

Thus Story Empire was born

I invite you to join me, Craig Boyack, Staci Troilo, Harmony Kent and Sandra Cox as we explore realms of fiction and more. We’ve got some fun stuff planned, including a few giveaways that will be coming up next month. For starters, you can find a post from me on the pros and cons about writing a series. Weigh in with your comments. We’d love to hear from you.

And don’t forget to click the “Follow” button while you’re there. You’ll get viewpoints from five different authors over time, view great content, discuss books, and network with many other wonderful writers.

Once upon a time…is now!

  1. It’s an honor to be part of Story Empire with such a confluence of talent. And more importantly, with a chance to talk to other writers on the road to publication and hopefully make their journey easier. Glad to be part of it! Great intro, Mae.

    • Thanks, Krya. We’re very excited about it. There’s a lot of wonderful talent and diverse voices in the group (most of us cross genres) so we’re hoping to have a nice variety of posts. Many thanks for commenting! 🙂

  2. Already visited, commented on some things, and followed. I love the concept, of course, the look of the site, and the posts I’ve read so far. Looking forward to more! Best of luck. I predict you’ll grow by leaps and bounds, and will have a very popular, useful, and FUN blog. Good luck!

  3. Great idea! We have a small group going also, the Sisterhood of Suspense who talk about the craft of writing and all things… you guessed it, suspense! It’s a fun way to get to know other authors and readers who share the same love of books you do 🙂 Going to check out The Story Empire now!

  4. What a great concept, Mae! I would love to see what comes out of this blog. Sadly, I tried several times just now to *follow* and it keeps kicking me to a message that my ‘subscription failed, try again with a valid email.’ I retyped the email in case I messed it up and still get the same response. Weird, since I used my email associated with my own WP blog. Anyhoo, I wish you five the best!

    • Hi, Calisa! Thanks for dropping by and checking out the new blog. That’s very strange about the email subscription. I’ll have to check into it and see what’s going on over there. We’ll be posting once a week on Mondays (should you like to check it out) which other posts occasionally tossed in as well. Hope all has been good with you!

    • HI, Cheryl. It’s wonderful to have you drop by my blog and also to follow the group at Story Empire. Thanks for both!

Congrats on delving into your second book and exploring the idea of a series. I’m delighted to learn my post was of help to you and wish you the very best of success moving ahead. A series is a huge undertaking, but also an accomplishment to be proud of! 🙂
