Myth and Magic by Mae Clair on Bestseller Lists of Amazon and B&N

O! M! Freaking! Word!

Excuse me while I do cartwheels–or at least attempt to. I lost the knack for gymnastics back in my twenties, but the news I got today has me hopping around like a teenager.

Or an Energizer Bunny.

Or some mythical creature that has been magically rejuvenated by the wave of a magic wand.

I don’t usually blog on the weekends because I reserve that time for writing, but I so wanted to share this news. I can now say I have a bestselling book. Seriously, am I dreaming?

MYTH AND MAGIC hit the bestseller list for Amazon yesterday when it reached #8 in the paid store for romantic suspense and #8 in the paid store for mystery. Overall, I hit #115 (all genres) in the paid store which I thought was pretty darn good. I’ve got a lot of promo still lined up for the rest of this month and would love to break the top 100 overall. Cross your fingers that it still might happen.

Myth’s ranking has slipped to #36 today (still good enough for the best seller lists) but I’ve got another paid promo that kicks in on Monday.

ECLIPSE LAKE has also gotten another boost because of Myth’s sales. Eclipse had started to slip recently after being steady with sales (ever since I did the free Amazon promo in June), so I’m delighted Myth invigorated it with new life.

This morning I logged onto my frenemy Facebook, and found this from another author.

Do you see that header that says Bestsellers? Do you see MYTH AND MAGIC listed underneath? This is from B&N which means I made the bestseller list for my genre at the two top bookstores. ECSTATIC!

Remember those cartwheels? I’m doing them in my mind, even if my body is saying don’t attempt it. This status is a first for me, and I had to share the news with the readers of my blog. THANK YOU to every one who has downloaded a copy of Myth. You are the ones who made this possible.Who left reviews and helped me spread the word. I am truly grateful for that support as I take another step in fulfilling my dream of being a successful author.

My $.99 sale for MYTH AND MAGIC continues through 11/4 and I’ve still got a ton of promo to go. In a month known for its spooky overtures, this October has been nothing short of magical for me. I only wish my parents, who encouraged my love of writing from the time I was in grade school, were still alive to see it. I tend to think maybe they know anyway. 🙂

Veronica Kent fell in love with Caith Breckwood when they were children. As a teenager, she was certain he was the man she was destined to marry. But a traumatic event from Caith’s past led him to fear a future together. He left Veronica, hoping to save her from a terrible fate. Twelve years later, Caith, now a P.I., is hired to investigate bizarre incidents at the secluded retreat Veronica manages. Returning to his hometown, Caith is forced to face his nightmares—and his feelings for the woman he’s always loved.

THEN ONE DAY THE MONSTERS BECAME REAL.

After the callous way Caith broke her heart, Veronica isn’t thrilled to see him again. But strange occurrences have taken a dangerous toll on business at Stone Willow Lodge. Forced to work together, Veronica discovers it isn’t ghostly apparitions that frighten her, but her passion for a man she has never forgotten. Or forgiven. Can two people with a tarnished past unearth a magical future?

    • Thanks for joining in my celebration, Carmen! I think a good portion of the boost Myth got was from my appearance on the Thursday 13 at the MFRW blog and the Twitter love that came with it. Thank you so much for inviting me, my friend!

    • Hi, Paddy! So great to have you drop in. Thank you so much for those wonderful comments. My parents encouraged me on this story from the time I wrote my first fumbling “story” at age 6, so it’s wonderful to think they are smiling down on me at this moment. 🙂
