I can actually say “been there, done that,” in relation to the question above. If you’ve visited my blog before, you might know I’ve traipsed around West Virginia in the area where the legendary Mothman was sighted — all in the name of research which I’ve factored into an upcoming novel.
But going out on a charter boat to track down a leviathan larger than a whale . . .a mythical seabeast that has a taste for gobbling up ships? Nah, probably not.
That, is however, exactly what my heroine, Rylie Carswell, does in my new indie release, SOLSTICE ISLAND. Today, I’m visiting with my Kensington Books/Lyrical Press sister, Gemma Brocato on her fabulous blog. If you get a chance, I’d love for you to pop over and say hello.
Mae, I loved your explanation of your sea creature. I can’t wait to read this book. Thanks for visiting me today.

Gemma, thanks so much for hosting me on your blog. What a fun day! And I’m delighted to hear you’re looking forward to reading the book. Writing a romantic adventure was a lot of fun . . . especially since I got to toss in a sea beastie! 🙂

Mothman research sounds really interesting. Can’t wait to see what you do with that character in your new story.

Hi, Daisy. “Negative Reach” (the Mothman story) was my NaNoWriMo project last November. I still need to add about another 30K words and clean it up, but it’s close to my heart after visiting the area. The Silver Bridge collapse of 1967 also factors prominently in the story. Hopefully, I’ll be tackling it soon!

I’d prefer to sit at home and write about searching for a legend:-)

I’m with you, Jessi . . . at least where the sea creature is concerned. I did find researching the Mothman in his actual haunt pretty awesome though, and hope to do more of that with other cryptids as time permits. Just as long as it doesn’t involve becoming a monster munchie, LOL!

Mae – Perhaps you are moving so fast due to a need to stay ahead of your creatures, or not. You never cease to impress me.

LOL! I like that idea, Sheri. They definitely have me scrambling in the fictional world. No question they would in the real world too!
Thanks for visiting and your awesome support. Sending you well wishes and smiles 🙂
